Spice Island Car Rentals understands that travel plans can change. This Exchange and Cancellation Policy provides clear guidelines for modifying or canceling your reservation.
Cancellation Policy
Standard Cancellation Terms
All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to spiceislandcarrentals@gmail.com or by phone at +1 (473) 403-1976.
Cancellations Made 24+ Hours Before Pickup
- Full refund of your reservation deposit
- No cancellation fees apply
- Refund will be processed within 5-7 business days
Cancellations Made Less Than 24 Hours Before Pickup
- One-day rental fee of $55.00 USD will be retained
- Any amount paid beyond the one-day fee will be refunded
- Refund will be processed within 5-7 business days
No-Show Cancellations
- Failure to pick up your reserved vehicle without prior notification results in forfeiture of the entire reservation deposit
- No refund will be issued for no-show reservations

Exchange and Modification Policy
Changing Your Rental Dates
With 24+ Hours Notice
- You may modify your pickup date, drop-off date, or rental duration at no additional cost
- Changes are subject to vehicle availability
- Please contact us as soon as you know your plans have changed
- We will confirm the availability of a vehicle for your new dates
With Less Than 24 Hours Notice
- Date changes may still be accommodated based on vehicle availability
- Standard cancellation fees may apply (one-day rental fee of $55 USD)
- We will work with you to find the best solution for your situation
Vehicle Color Exchange
- You may request a different vehicle color (Gold, Silver, or Bronze) at any time before or during pickup
- Vehicle color exchanges are subject to availability
- There is no fee for exchanging vehicle colors
- All our Suzuki Ignis vehicles offer the same features and performance regardless of color
Rental Duration Changes
Extending Your Rental
- You may extend your rental period during your rental, subject to vehicle availability
- Please provide as much advance notice as possible
- Extension rates will be calculated at our standard daily or weekly rates
- Payment for the extension is due at the time the extension is confirmed
Shortening Your Rental (Early Return)
- If you return your vehicle earlier than scheduled, you will be charged only for the actual days used
- Please see our Return and Refund Policy for details on early return refunds
- Advance notice is appreciated but not required for early returns
Company-Initiated Cancellations
If We Cannot Fulfill Your Reservation
In the rare event that Spice Island Car Rentals cannot provide your reserved vehicle due to unforeseen circumstances:
We Will:
- Contact you immediately upon discovering the issue
- Make every reasonable effort to source an equivalent replacement vehicle
- Provide you with all available options
Your Options:
- Accept a replacement vehicle if available (same model, different color, or equivalent vehicle)
- Reschedule your reservation to a different date when vehicles are available
- Receive a full refund of all payments made
Compensation:
- As an apology for the inconvenience, you will receive a 10% discount on your next rental with Spice Island Car Rentals
- This discount code will be emailed to you and is valid for 12 months from the date of issue
Weather or Emergency Situations
- In cases of extreme weather, natural disasters, or government-mandated travel restrictions affecting Grenada:
- We will work with you to reschedule your reservation at no additional cost
- If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund will be provided
Special Circumstances
Flight Delays
- We understand that flight delays are beyond your control
- If your flight is delayed, please contact us as soon as possible
- We will make every effort to accommodate your delayed arrival
- No cancellation fees will apply for delays caused by airline or airport issues (documentation may be required)
Medical or Family Emergencies
- We handle cancellations due to medical or family emergencies with compassion and flexibility
- Please contact us to discuss your situation
- We will work with you to find a fair solution, which may include:
- Full refund of reservation deposit
- Credit toward a future rental
- Flexible rescheduling options
Important Notes
Advance Notice Requirements
- For the best service and to ensure vehicle availability, we recommend:
- 48 hours advance notice for all reservations
- 24 hours advance notice for any cancellations or modifications
Vehicle Availability
- All exchanges and date modifications are subject to vehicle availability
- During peak tourist seasons (January-April), vehicle availability may be limited
- We recommend booking early and providing as much advance notice as possible for changes
Rental Period Applicability
- This policy applies equally to all rental durations including:
- Daily rentals
- Weekly rentals
- Monthly rentals
- Extended long-term rentals
Communication
- All modification or cancellation requests should be confirmed in writing (email) when possible
- You will receive email confirmation of any changes to your reservation
- Keep all confirmation emails for your records
